Welcome to Port Stephens Sailing and Aquatic Club

The club is located on the eastern shore of Soldiers Point within Port Stephens, with a lovely sandy beach and grassy launching area. We sail on Salamander Bay with predominately north easterly to south easterly sea breezes. Sailors include children, youth, women, open, masters and grand masters. Sailors who aren't members are welcome to join our recreational events or races by registering at the club prior to commencement.

The current senior membership sail predominately Lasers and other classes of sailing dinghy are most welcome. Our children sail in Open Bic dinghy, Sabots and Flying Elevens.

‘Learn to sail’ school holiday and Sunday morning classes for juniors, ‘Discover Sailing’ for adults and juniors and recreational sailing are held throughout the season.

Our  regular program includes

  • Mid week races and an recreational sailing on Thursdays at 10.30am

  • Weekend sailing on Sundays (instruction, recreational sailing and races):

    • Youths at 9.30am

    • Adults at 11am.

Members also have access to the shed and sail at their convenience.

We welcome sailors of any age and can provide a limited amount of boat storage in the boat shed for members who sail regularly. The Club has boats for hire to prospective members and visitors.

The venue of the 2019 RS Aero World Championship in Australia.There is a variety of accommodation in the locality. Port Stephens is a couple of hours drive north of Sydney.

The flying 11s will be in the bay Jan 2019
